Humanitarian Wing (HUM)
The Humanitarian Wing is a subcommittee of Nerul Gymkhana Trust.
Our organization being a charitable trust, (Registration No. F-6886 Dt 24.03.1998), it is imperative, that as part of our social responsibility, we also focus a part of our efforts in social humanitarian work.
The “Mission 2010 “a project initiated in 2002 to prepare children for Commonwealth Games produced several National and International level sportspersons and have among us, our Honorary member, who is recipient of Tenzing Norgay Adventure Sports Award at the hands of the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu on November 30, 2012, and host of other awards. The success of Mission 2010 is one of the reasons for setting up a humanitarian wing in Nerul Gymkhana.
The second reason: During the pandemic(s) and calamities, it is our duty as an organization to aid and mitigate the suffering of the affected people.
Meanwhile, Nerul Gymkhana also got the CSR Registration. Our CSR Registration No is 00026012
THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE HUMANITARIAN WING: –
- Nerul Gymkhana will support talented but financially challenged children in the Sports facilities which are available in Nerul Gymkhana or as decided by committee. The committee will grant support for the children as per the budget available.
- Grooming, training & developing children below the age of 18 years from financially challenged families in Athletics, Cricket, Tennis, Swimming etc. for State, National & International Level Competition.
- These funds can also be used for Humanitarian causes and also national disaster relief projects.
- Environmental conservation and Go Green efforts thru installation of Solar Panels and Waste Management projects coordinating with Municipal corporations.
- On availing C.S.R. funds from a company, Nerul Gymkhana Humanitarian Wing will spend that fund in the area specified by the company.
Humanitarian wing got a head start by receiving CSR fund of
- Rs. 6 lacs in the Year 2022
- Rs. 13 Lacs in year 2023
- Rs. 18 lakhs in the Year 2023 – 24.
The major CSR donors are

The CSR Project carried out:-
1) Sports
Cricket Pitch Roller at the cost of Rs.4.25 Lacs
Gymnastics equipment’s at the cost of Rs.1.5 Lacs.
Tennis Courts Flood Lights at the cost of Rs.5.86 Lacs.
Cricket Academy Flood light at the cost of Rs.1.5 Lacs. This is
ongoing CSR project.
Financial Aid has been provided to Physically Special individuals, via HUM as
follows:
1. Abhilipsa Mallik – For – Tennis Advanced Coaching
2. Harish Nair – For Swimming
3. Shravani Manohar Ayre – For Swimming
2. Environment, Waste Management & Women empowerment in association with Municipal Corporation.
As part of its service to the community at large, Nerul Gymkhana’s Humanitarian Wing, has recognized the need to do its bit for the environment by procuring a Bailing machine at a cost of Rs.4.5L for Bailing Multi Layered Plastic which is a byproduct of the waste segregation done by Women Ragpickers.
Extension of the shed at a cost of Rs.2.5 lakhs.
Further to the above, as part of its Environment initiative, based on the request of Stree Mukti Sangthna, the Humanitarian Wing of Nerul Gymkhana expanded an existing shed for storage of waste to double its capacity, so that more waste could be collected, segregated into wet and dry and stored before disposal to end user. The cost of this expansion was Rs.2.5L.
3. Education for Underprivileged Children.
The Humanitarian wing has setup an ongoing Montessori type of Kindergarten project for educating about 80 under privileged children in the age group 4 to 7 yrs. from in and around Nerul under the name “Nanhe Kadam”. The aim is to make the children proficient in English and mathematics so that they can be admitted to good schools for further education. The project includes providing nutrition and also counselling parents. The CSR fund allocation is about Rs.8 to Rs.10 lacs per year and in consent with the CSR donors.
4. Medical equipment.
The Humanitarian wing provided Equipments to Mathadi Hospital in Vashi worth about Rs.4.5 Lacs.
